‘Stoner’ was a film developed by Golden Harvest for Bruce Lee to star in. After Lee’s untimely passing, Angela Mao Ying inherited his role as a Chinese hero who teams up with former James Bond George Lazenby to take on an evil drug empire masquerading as a cult.
Fans worldwide who had enjoyed Mao’s supporting role in ‘Enter the Dragon’ now saw her opposite the star of the 007 now regularly voted the series best, ‘On Her Majesty’s Secret Service’.
‘Stoner’ is action directed by Sammo Hung, who also plays a role in the film.
The film was shot on location in Hong Kong, and at Golden Harvest studios, where the production reused some of the sets from Bruce Lee’s ‘Enter the Dragon’.
