Lucky Stars Go Places Chinese Poster

Reel East’s The Sammo Hung Collection celebrates the work of China’s Orson Welles of action. This triple threat actor, director and choreographer has spent most of his career revolutionising Hong Kong action cinema. Reel East is proud to present original memorabilia from some of Sammo’s milestone movies.

With ‘Lucky Stars Go Places’, Sammo blended the two great action comedy franchises of Hong Kong cinema: his own ‘Lucky Stars’ series and the ‘Aces Go Places’ films, starring Hung’s old cohort Karl Maka. The result is a fast-paced slapstick flick that blends inspired buffoonery with some ballistic martial arts action.

The film pits Sammo’s ‘Kidstuff’ against Maka’s ‘Kodijak’, and hilarity ensues. This ‘Lucky Stars’ team is reconfigured to include singing star Alan Tam, superstar Andy Lau and the burly Kent Cheng. It was produced by Sammo, and directed by ‘Lucky Stars’ series regular Eric Tsang.
